As part of being listed in our Green Web Dataset, we ask providers to annually update the evidence they have shared with us showing that they are using 100% green energy to deliver their services. In this post, our verification manager Fershad shares an update about our current reverification drive.
We ask all providers listed in the Green Web Dataset to annually update the evidence they have shared with us to verify their claims of using 100% green energy to deliver their services. We call this process reverification, and it is an important part of us being able to ensure our dataset is up-to-date and can be a trusted by those who rely on it. We’ve written about it a bit more about reverification in this FAQ – What is reverification for hosting providers?
Our latest request for reverification involves 150 providers listed in our dataset. On June 9, 2026 we contacted these providers requesting them to share updated evidence for their listing by July 31, 2026. So far (August 4, 2026) 112 providers have completed this successfully or requested an extension to obtain evidence.
This leaves 38 hosting providers who have not yet completed reverification. These providers have now been archived in our dataset. When a provider listing is archived, that provider will no longer appear in our Green Web Directory, and websites hosted by them will not show as “green” in our Green Web Check. Once archived, a provider can be relisted in our Dataset by updating the evidence they have shared for their listing.
