Introducing Cathy
Over the course of her time at The Engine Room, Cathy has collaborated with civil society organizations and activists, enhancing their digital resilience through capacity building, infrastructure fortification, data analysis, and direct support. Her contributions also include chapters in the Open Gender Data Handbook and teaching critical data skills in metrics and data visualization as adjunct faculty.
Fellowship Project
My project proposes to investigate the utility of GIS and analyze the ethical and security risks associated with its use. Through this I intend to develop community-centered technical guidance that support civil society organizations in their climate justice endeavors.
