Organisations can use this webpage template to outline their commitment to achieving 100% fossil-free energy on the hosting infrastructure they use by 2030. This statement is optional for providers who are looking to be listed in the Green Web Dataset.

About this template

This template serves as a guide for organisations who wish to outline their commitment to achieving 100% fossil-free energy on the hosting infrastructure they use by 2030.

This template is intended as a guide. Hosting providers who want to publish their own 2030 statement can either use one of the templates we have provided below, or incorporate the core themes into their own organisationals sustainability pledges. The core themes we ask providers to include are:

  1. A time-based commitment to using 100% hourly matched fossil free (carbon free) energy for their hosting infrastructure.
  2. A pointer to the standards, guidelines, or criteria the provider is following to disclose their claims.
  3. An endorsement of the statement from a member of the organisation.
  4. The date the statement was endorsed, and the time it will next be reviewed.
  5. A way for people to contact the organisation for more information.

You can publish your fossil-free statement as a standalone web page, or include it in your organisation’s existing sustainability and corporate reports.

This means that any data centers we operate ourselves, or any hosting infrastructure we might purchase from another provider operates using 100% fossil free energy, and this generation is supported by credible claims based on the Green Web Foundation’s provider verification criteria.

We understand that achieving this will take time, and may require us to look carefully at the hosting infrastructure we use. Therefore, as part of this commitment, we are publishing information about the fossil free status of our current digital supply chain.
