The movement working towards a just and sustainable internet is a living ecosystem of actors, approaches and moments. Some have a technical focus, some a social or environmental focus, and many blend these dimensions in pioneering ways.
Our fiscal sponsorship offerings are centered on our experience and understanding of these dynamics. We offer a spectrum of help for projects including:
- Sharing our legal and tax-exempt status to enable the receipt of grant funds or donations.
- Grant management coaching and support.
- Financial support and advice such as managing budgets, contract management and fudicary oversight.
- Project and operations management coaching and delivery support.
- HR and people operations.
- Strategic advice across a range of disciplines such as technical, community building and fundraising.
- Access and use of tooling and systems.
We work collaboratively with our fiscally sponsored projects to understand the project’s needs, and the needs of the individuals driving the work – not just in the immediate term, but for long-term success too. Our goals are ultimately to co-create a package of support that provides flexibility and capacity when it’s most needed, uplift the work and strengthen the impact of those who share in the mission of a just and sustainable internet.
In exchange, we typically charge an overhead of 10% – 15% of income from grants and contracts that we legally sponsor, and provide a competitive rate for other delivery focused services.
